Tau Wooden Cross Blessed By Pope - Franciscan Crucifix 1" 1/4

Wear the sign of St. Francis: a Tau cross cut from olive wood — the simple Franciscan cross form treasured since the thirteenth century.

• Size: 1" 1/4 x 1" (3 cm x 2.5 cm)
• Material: Olive wood — natural grain varies, so each cross differs slightly from the picture, but not in size or shape
• Blessing: Blessed by Pope Leo XIV
• Shipping: Ships from Rome, Italy

St. Anthony of Egypt bore the tau on his cloak, and Francis of Assisi adopted it as his personal signature after hearing Pope Innocent III speak on the symbol. It remains the emblem of the Franciscan Order today — a plain, honest cross for a plain, honest devotion.
